Endothelial Cell Injury Resulting from Hyperhomocysteinemia and Early Atherosclerosis

Hyperhomocysteinemia is an independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.The vascular endothelium is not only the barrier of Blood vessel endothelium,but also can play many effects by synthesizing and secreting kinds of active factors,including anti-inflammatory,anti-coagulation,anti-thrombosis,inhibiting the growth of vascular smooth muscle cells,regulating angiotasis.while,homocysteic acid can result in the structural and functional injury of endothelium by many mechanism,such as oxidative stress,hypomethylation,Homocysteic protein,dysfunction of endothelial progenitor cells,which is the key resulting in early atherosclerosis.
