The method of catalytic kinetic determination of trace iodine by flow injection was described. Using the decoloring reaction of NaNO_2 and Fe(SCN)~-_4 which iodine catalyzed, the trace iodine was detected by flow injection analysis (FIA). The linear range of the determination of the trace iodine was within 1.0~7.0 μg/mL. The detection limit was 0.5 μg/mL. The RSD was 5.0%. The method has been used to determine trace iodine in water, and the results were acceptable.
