Objective To discuss the relationship between treating method and clinical outcomes. Methods Fifteen cases of adenoid cystic carcinoma of Lacrimal Gland were studied clinically. Results The local recurrences in the patients with surgery alone and in those with surgery combined with postoperative radiation therapy were 85 7% and 12 5%( P 0 05)respectively.The distant metastasis rates and medium survival in both periods patients were 85 7% and 37 5%,74 5 and 95 4 months, respectively. Those of local recurrence had a shorter survival time than those of non-local recurrence( P 0 05).Conclusions The treatment combining surgery with postoperative radiotherapy is helpful in reducing the local recurrence of adenoid cystic carcinoma of lacrimal gland.
