Thermal press process should been carried out to aramid paper after the wet paper is formed,so as to enhance aramid paper's the mechanical properties and electrical insulating properties as well as paper smoothness. There are many factors made the great differences to the properties of aramid paper, such as thermal pressure, times of pressing, velocity of the press roll as well as the temperature of pre-heating.By conducting an orthogonal experiment and using SEM to research the microstructure under different thermal pressing conditions,it made a conclusion that if a higher mechanical property and a higher electrical insulating property are both requested, the following conditions are:thermal temperature 260℃,thermal pressure 16MPa,thermal pressing only once, velocity of pressing roll 1.5m/min,temperature of pre-heating 100℃.
