Isopentene Alkylation of p-Hydroxybenzaldehyde

Isopentene alkylation of p-hydroxybenzaldehyde with 4-bromoisopentene were investigated under various basic conditions.The products of C-alkyl,O-alkyl or C-alkyl-O-alkyl of p-hydroxybenzaldehyde were synthesized selectively by adjustment of reaction conditions.The structrues were characterized by 1H NMR,IR and MS.
