Incarceration of the gravid uterus

A 27-year-old primigravida with a septate uterus, duplicated cervix, and vaginal septum presented to the hospital at 27 weeks of gestation because of frequent urination and constipation. Incarceration of the gravid uterus was suspected by ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) performed on the patient eventually confirmed this diagnosis (Figure).
