Organic solar cells: evolution of morphological and electronic properties as a function of steric hindrance from the acceptor side groups

Combining DFT and MD simulations, we explored how bulky side groups on acceptors affect nanoscale morphology and electronic properties in neat films and blends by steric hindrance, revealing the molecular origin of efficiency gains in OSCs.
