Electro-Hydraulic Actuation System Modeling using Bond Graph Technique

Electro Hydraulic Actuation Systems (EHAS) are used in various applications where in high magnitude of forces are exerted. These systems are interdisciplinary comprising components from Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic domains. Multi domain simulation environment is required to model these systems. We used the Bond graph theory to model the EHAS systems. Using Bond graph theory, models we can directly generate the differential equations pertaining to multi domain system components. Further, system's state space models have been described. This paper, describes in detail, the methodology and application of bond graph theory, in generating differential equations and converting them to state space models and simulation of closed loop dynamic response of EHAS in MATLAB/Simulink environment.
