New Maximum Power Point algorithm for photovoltaic systems

In this paper a new Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm based on the mathematical model is proposed for photovoltaic systems that include photovoltaic solar module, boost converter and a resistive load. The simple model for Photovoltaic module is developed based on the single-diode photovoltaic model including the effect of the series resistance. A typical 60W PV module is selected for simulation and the complete PV system is modeled and simulated using Matlab/Simulink environment. The new Maximum Power Point Tracking algorithm shows that the Maximum Power Point is reached rapidly.
