Optical Fiber Sensor-Fused Additive Manufacturing and Its Applications in Residual Stress Measurements

This paper reports optical fiber embedded in Ti-6Al-4V components using active manufacturing process. Thermal-induced residual stress on the sensor-embedded parts was measured using Rayleigh scattering distributed sensing scheme with 5-mm spatial resolutions.
