摘要
Two classification proposals concerning lymphoid neoplasms were published in 2022, with the full book editions released in 2025: the fifth edition of the World Health Organization Classification (WHO5) and the International Consensus Classification (ICC). These updates reflect major advances in clinical, pathological, immunophenotypic, molecular, and genomic research, which have resulted in refined diagnostic criteria, redefined disease categories, and the identification of new entities. While both classifications share many common elements, notable differences remain in the definitions and diagnostic criteria of certain disorders. This article provides a concise overview of both classifications, focusing on the biology and diagnostic approach to selected B-cell and T-cell lymphomas.
