The authors summarize updates since 2015, highlighting the greater emphasis throughout the book on advances in molecular pathology and clinical impact of previous updates. Nevertheless, the nomenclature for disease ontologies in the 2021 WHO Classification of lung tumors still lacks genetic biomarkers, which are part of the disease ontologies in the classification of other tumors.
