Effect of the Sintering Temperature on the Bulk Electrical Resistance and Electromagnetic Energy Absorption of Pressureless Sintered AlN–SiC Composites

It is reported that the electrical resistance of pressureless sintered AlN–50 wt % SiC composites decreases with a simultaneous increase in their electromagnetic power absorption, when the sintering temperature is elevated from 1800 to 1950°C. An analytical expression relating the resistance decrease and the electromagnetic energy absorption increase is proposed.
