Aspects of kinetic analysis are reviewed taking into account different scopes of applied heterogeneous catalysis: the micro-kinetic analysis for reaction synthesis, i.e. analysis of rate determining steps and derivation of optimised catalyst design; the kinetic analysis of complex reactions under closed-to-process conditions for optimisation of catalysts and reactor operation; the analysis of the interplay of kinetics and transport processes for optimisation reactor design as well as experimental methods of kinetic data acquisition as a basis of kinetic modelling.
