Peculiarities of the combined course of chronic ischemic heart disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus (literature review)

The aim of the work – to analyze the literature data on the features of the combined course of chronic ischemic heart disease (CHD) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), taking into account the data of biochemical analysis of blood and ultrasonic Dopplerography of the vessels of the head and neck.Мaterial and methods. According to scientific publications in Ukrainian and foreign researchers, the main links of etiology, pathogenesis, clinico-instrumental, and laboratory features of the course of ischemic disease on the background of diabetes mellitus of type 2 are highlighted.Сonclusions. A review of the literature showed that in order to prevent cardiovascular risk in patients with chronic coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus, it is advisable to introduce screening for early detection of atherosclerosis to reduce cardiac and cerebrovascular risks and to optimize the treatment of such patients.
