Radiative heat transfer is the dominant mode in reheating furnace.Correctly solving radiative properties of gases is essential to mathematical model of reheating furnace.Edwards exponential wide band model and Leckner series were studied,further,the radiative properties of carbon dioxide and vapor were calculated accordingly.The results show that these two models have equivalent precision in reheating furnace predictions.Nevertheless,they should be distinguished in different temperature ranges in the process of manufacture in view of the precision of the models,fuels and the requirements from the equipment of manufacture.
