The Development and Validation of the Gender Ideology Scale (GIS) for Rural China

Based on the realistic background of rural China,the 14-item Gender Ideology Scale(GIS)for Rural China was constructed with literature review,In-depth interview,Focus-Group Discussion,Experts Rating and Validation methods included,for measuring the gender equity in people's ideology for rural China.In June,2005,the scale was validated in one county of eastern China,the result from the analysis indicate the good reliability and validity for GIS,which still has the space for improvement.
