Study on PC/PBT Blends Toughened by ACR

The effect of ACR having nuclear-shell structure on the mechanical properties and thermal resistance of PBT/PC(80/20) blend system was studied.The result showed that the Izod notched impact strength of the blend increased with the increase of the content of ACR,while the tensile strength,bending strength and Vicat softening point(VSP) decreased.When the content of ACR was 5 phr,the notched impact strength of the blends was doubled,and the notched impact strength was about five times of that of the untoughened PBT/PC blends when the content of ACR was 30 phr.The toughening effect of FM50 was better than that of KM355.
