REVIEW OF RESEARCH ON CHITIN AND CHITOSAN FROM FUNGI

Many fungi are rich in chitin and chitosan in their cell walls, which makes fungi become a new and potential source of chitin and chitosan. The existences of chitin and chitosan in fungi, methods of preparing, as well as some problems of obtaining chitin and chitosan from fungi were reviewed in this paper.
