Ultrasensitive and rapid detection of low concentration of Escherichia coli O157: H7 (E. coli O157:H7) in food is essential for food safety and public health. In this study, A novel fluorescence signal amplification biosensor based on magnetic separation platform and red fluorescent carbon dots (R-CDs)-encapsulated breakable organosilica nanocapsules (BONs) for ultrasensitive detection of E. coli O157:H7 was established. Wulff-type boronic acid functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs@B-N/APBA) with broad-spectrum bacterial recognition ability were synthesized for the first time to recognize and capture E. coli O157: H7 in food samples.
