摘要
Abstract Tyranno SA4 grade SiC fiber is an emerging continuous fiber with excellent mechanical properties. The origin of the fiber's high‐performance was studied by comparative Raman spectroscopy of four different grades of SiC fibers and reference SiC monolith. Analysis of the Raman spectra of fiber cross‐sections, surface and homogeneity, and fibers under stress, revealed how differences in microstructure, such as crystalline order, size, and the presence of critical flaws, dictate mechanical properties. This information can help optimize SiC fiber manufacturing.
