Increasing the local electron density of carbons for enhanced O 2 activation at room temperature

Molecular oxygen activation has been shown to proceed with high performance on modified carbon materials. Our results provide valuable insights into O 2 activation by non-metallic materials and the design of carbon catalysts for advanced oxidation.
