Toward a Next-Generation Liquid Biopsy for HPV+ HNSCC: Opportunities, Challenges, and the Road Ahead

Abstract HPV whole genome sequencing (WGS)-based plasma ctDNA analysis has demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy to identify HPV-positive head and neck cancer, supporting potential for future clinical validation through biomarker advancement paradigms. Here, we discuss how this research opens exciting future directions for liquid biopsy research and clinical implementation for HPV+ HNSCC.
