Biaxial Molecular Arrangement of Rod−Disc Molecule under an Electric Field

We developed rod−disc liquid crystalline molecules consisting of six calamitic mesogens and one discotic mesogen, which exhibit a biaxial nematic phase. In this ordered nematic phase, rodlike mesogens and disclike mesogens are completely mixed and intercalated.
