摘要
Abstract Analytical expressions have been derived relating the length, surface area, volume, and Laplace excess pressure of a liquid drop adhering to a cylindrical fiber to linear drop dimensions and the contact angle. Extensive tables of dimensionless forms of these quantities have been computed. The calculations form the basis of a precise and accurate method for measuring contact angle in such systems. A description of experimental technique for contact angle measurement is given, together with results for some well-defined systems.
