摘要
Abstract A number of azo dyes(1a-h) were prepared by the reaction of 4-aminoacetophenone with sodium nitrite to produce the corresponding diazonium salts then allowed to react with m-phenylenediamine to produce the appropriate azo dye(1), The prepared starting material (1) has been reacted with different substituted benzaldehydes to give a new series of chalcone derivatives (1a-h) . Additionally, the structures of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by FT-IR, 1 H-NMR spectral data. All the azo compounds are used for dyeing performance on multi-fiber strip of acetate, cotton, nylon, wool, acrylic and polyester fibers are acid and dispersed dyes. All the synthesized dyes gave moderate to excellent fastness properties on each fiber.
