The Influence of Grinding Oils on Grinding Heat

The depth of surface layer containing residual stresses and the maximum residual stress decrease at grinding operation with the oilily grinding oil.The effects of the oils to the residual stresses, at the grinding operation with the blinded wheel are greater than with the dressed wheel.Grinding forces are measured by the special wirestrain Gauge, and Grinding Heat are calculated from the forces.By the results of the many grinding tests, the Grinding Heat occurs approximately 0.15-0.2 Cal/mm2 at dry grinding, 0, 08-0.12Cal/mm2 with soluble grinding oils, and 0.04-0.08Cal/mm2 with oilily grinding oils.
