Aiming at the belt polishing technology for free-form and conformal optics polishing,the belt polishing equipment was developed and the removal function of belt polishing was studied through theoretical analysis and polishing experiment.Polishing experiments of a K9 sample and a SiC sample were done and results showed that the belt polishing technology had high material remove rate and good surface quality at the same time,and no need pre-polishing in addition.It showed that the belt polishing technology studied here was a promising method in optical fabrication.
