Effect of dexmedetomidine on awakening period of patients with intravenous combined general anesthesia with remifentanil and propofol

Objective To investtigate the effect of dexmedetomidine used before anesthesia on awakening period of patients with intravenous combined general anesthesia with remifentanil and propofol. Methods From May 2011 to May 2013,120 patients with intravenous combined general anesthesia with remifentanil and propofol were selected. The 60 patients in observation group were given dexmedetomidine before anesthesia,and 60 patients in control group were not given dexmedetomidine before anesthesia. The awaking time,extubation time and postoperative extubation was observed. Results In observation group,the sedative effect score was( 2. 3 ± 1. 2),and the incidence of adverse reactions was 2. 8%,compared with the control group,there were significant differences. Conclusion Dexmedetomidine used before anesthesia can shorten the awaking time,reduce the incidence of adverse reactions,so is the ideal preanesthetic medication.
