Research on Extrapolation Methods of Hot Spot Stress Based on HCSR

To test the rationality of extrapolation methods of hot spot stress of common structural rules for Bulk Carriers and Oil Tankers( HCSR),seven different extrapolation methods were summarized. By the analysis of the simplified models with solid and shell elements and the contrast of the old and new Rules with ship models,the rationality of the extrapolation methods of HCSR was confirmed. The two versions of the extrapolation methods in HCSR were compared also.
