The preparation of mesoporous membranes and its separating performance were studied in this paper. The effects of sol viscosity on the quality of membranes,as well as the effects of composition of sol,sol stirring-intensity and the filming time on the water flux and retention rates of mesoporous SiO2 membranes, were also researched. The microstructures of mesoporous SiO2 membranes were characterized by IR and XRD. Results showed that the optimum soviscosity for film coating was 30~40 mPa·s. The mesoporous backbone of the membranes was unbroken by sintering. The water flux of the achieved membranes is 4215 L/m2· h and its retention rate to BSA reached 98%.
