Inoculation.

The basic considerations in choosing inoculation methods, particularly for plant pathogenic fungi, are discussed. The initial considerations include knowing the objective, the behaviour of inoculum, the host and the environmental conditions during inoculation. The basic techniques of inoculation, such as natural exposure to inoculum, direct application to the host surface and inoculation through soil or roots, are also discussed. Different methods of viral and bacterial inoculation are also mentioned.
