Gastrointestinal hormones and obesity

The gastrointestinal tract is not only an organ for energy intake and absorption,but also an important endocrine organ,which secretes a variety of hormones and affects appetite and lipid metabolism, e-ven the body's metabolic rate. The secretion of gastrointestinal hormones in the patients with obesity is abnormal, and gastrointestinal hormones are closely related to obesity. Therefore,understanding of the relationship between obesity and gastrointestinal hormones will help to develop new methods or drugs to lose weight.
