It was indicated that: chlorophyll content of upper grain glume was higher than that of lower grain glume on the day of flowering, but 10 days after flowering, chlorophyll content of upper grain glume decreased more quickly than that of lower one; the changes of chloropyll content of glume after flowering connected closely with grain filling; the difference between maximum chlorophyll content of upper grain glume and lower grain glume had significantly positive correlation with the difference between upper grain weight and lower grain weight; after fertilization, bagging panicle with nontransparent bag could reduce the weight of grain, so it can be concluded that the chlorophyll of rice glume might have attended photosynthesis and have influenced the weight of grain at maturing directly or indirectly.
