摘要
Photoaging is premature skin aging resulting from prolonged and repeated exposure to solar radiation. Aging and photo damage share a common final pathway that involves signaling through p53 following the disruption of the telomere. UVA radiation has longer wavelength than UVB rays, penetrates deep into the dermis and damages collagen fibers resulting in the abnormal production of elastin. Depending on the amount and form of the UV-B radiation, as well as on the skin type of the individual exposed, UV-B irradiation causes premature skin aging, referred to as photoaging. Photoaging is referred to as premature aging of skin caused by long-term continuous exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The other causes of photoaging include smoking habits, environmental pollution or any other sources of UV light. Some of the most common signs of photoaging include appearance of wrinkles, drooping skin (inelasticity), dark spots, telangiectasias, yellowish tint to the skin, mottled pigmentation.
