摘要
Current theories concerning the motility of protoplasm are considered in relation to the streaming in fungal hyphae. It was not possible to demonstrate a pressure gradient in the mycelium sufficient to cause the observed rates of flow, and it is suggested that the distribution of dry mass in the hyphae is consistent with the view that movement is the result of a counterflow system similar to that proposed recently to account for amoeboid movement.
