An Image Sharpening Algorithm Based on Edge Detection

Image sharpening is a method which to make the digital image much more clearly by compensating outlines and sharpening edges of image.The aim of this method is to enhance the high frequency part of original image.Normal sharpening algorithm performs high frequency enhancement for the whole image,this will get a result image with obvious noises.To resolve this problem,base on the understanding of the theory of sharpening,presents a method to detect edges of image at first,and then uses these edges to do high frequency enhancement.Experiments prove that this method can sharpen image effectively and remove the noises at the same time.
