RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT OF TRANSPARENT CERAMICS

Advantage of transparent ceramics and effective factors of transmittance of transparent ceramics and intrinsic factors are summarized and simple analyzed in this paper. The characteristics, applications and progress in researches on oxide compound trans- parent ceramics non-oxide compound transparent ceramics are introduced. The development trends of laser ceramics Nd:YAG and ceramics scintillators are described especially. Moreover, the development trends of transparent ceramics are prospected.
