A Comparison Between English and Chinese Metadiscourse

Upon classification of English metadiscourse made by Hyland Tse(2004) and Ifantidou(2005),the classification of Chinese metadiscourse is analyzed with the aim to make a structure comparison of English and Chinese metadiscourse.Then a contrastive study of interpersonal function and textual function of English and Chinese metadiscourse is made in various texts.
