On the Application of Dictation in High School English Classroom Teaching

Dictation as a most economical teaching and testing device can be more effectively applied in English language teaching practice. This paper, by means of questionnaires and interviews, intends to explore how this traditional device is being employed in most high school English classrooms and students' feedback on the practice of dictation. Tentative methods to apply dictation effectively are also recommended.
