Water dispersion of magnetite(Fe3O4)affects its applications in biomedicine.Highly Water-Dispersible Fe3O4 has been prepared by hydrothermal method using FeSO4,EG and trisodium citrate. The phase, morphology, size and surface functional groups were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR).The effects of trisodium citrate on morphology, size, crystalline and water dispersion of Fe3O4 were studied.Compared with Fe3O4 without using trisodium citrate,Fe3O4 modified by trisodium citrate exhibited better dispersion activity in water.
