An ultra-compact multimode waveguide crossing based on subwavelength asymmetric Y-junction

An ultra-compact multimode waveguide crossing composed of a pair of asymmetric Y-junctions based on subwavelength structures is proposed and demonstrated with a footprint of 34×34 µm2, low insertion loss < 1.5 dB.
