Proportion of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease in Coronary Heart Disease

Background: COPD and CHD is a desease that have same risk factor which is smoking and older especially CHD patient who had among history who's being diagnosed with lung malfunction especially COPD, hence, lung function examination must be done to decrease the nomber of mortality, caused by undiagnosed COPD who's become komorbidity toward CHD disease. Methods: This research is descriptive study where as many 40 sample of CHD patient, who's being treat as outpatient at Adam Malik General Hospital Medan, which undergoing spirometri examination to determine the diagnoses of COPD and by using COPD-population screener test as questioner to find the risk factor of COPD,MMRC and Smoking history were evaluated. Result: After spirometri and COPD-PS examination had been done,it was discovered that the proportion of COPD cases on CHD patient is 27.50 %, where COPD Score > 5 and MMRC grade 3–4 Conclusion: This reasearch proportion of COPD in patient with CHD is high which 27.50%. So the clinician have to do lung function examination for CHD patient especially who had occurence risk factor, until the clinician can determine the correct management for the patient.
