摘要
This paper addresses the phase-only beampattern synthesis via minimizing the peak sidelobe level under the constraints of controlled mainlobe level. The resulting design model is a challenging NP-hard problem due to the existence of the constant modulus constraints. To this end, we propose a novel Approximation Iterative Convex Optimization (AICO) algorithm to convert the constant modulus restrictions into convex constraints invoking first-order Taylor expansion. By doing so, the original problem can be solved sequentially over the resultant convex-hulls until convergence. Finally, numerical examples are presented to verify the superiority of the proposed algorithm in comparison with the available methods.
