摘要
The Milichiidae is an acalyptrate family with a cosmopolitan distribution, including 428 known species in 21 genera. Adults of some species are kleptoparasites of predatory arthropods and the larvae are generally saprophagous or coprophagous. Ten fossil species from the three milichiid subfamilies were described from Baltic (Madizinae, Phyllomyzinae), Dominican (Milichiinae), and Mexican ambers (Phyllomyzinae). Here, a new species of Milichiidae is described, representing the first Milichiinae described from Mexican amber and the second species of Milichiidae from this fossiliferous site. The new species, Milichiella brakeae sp. nov., is compared with other species of the genus from the Miocene.
