Acidic CO2 electroreduction to formic acid at low overpotentials over Cu modified with a dual site polymer

The FE of HCOOH was enhanced over commercial Cu by the modification with a dual site polymer under acidic conditions. The quaternary ammonium cation promoted CO 2 reduction at low potentials, the tertiary amine stabilized the key intermediate *OCHO.
