摘要
In this research work, co-precipitation method was adopted to synthesize copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs). Copper nitrate was used as a precursor material and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) was used as a stabilizing agent. In addition, effect of calcination temperature was investigated. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-vis), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) for optical, structural, and morphological properties. The UV absorption spectrum shows the characteristics peak at 321 nm and FTIR spectrum shows the characteristics vibration band 670 cm−1 confirms the formation of CuO NPs. The XRD data depicts that the synthesized CuO NPs have crystalline nature with monoclinic structure. The FESEM result shows the rod shaped topography of the CuO NPs.
