Friction and wear properties of SiC against stainless steel(1Cr18Ni9Ti) friction couples were studied under room temperature and unlubrication by pin-disc tribometer.The test shows that friction and wear of SiC against stainless(1Cr18Ni9Ti) friction couple likes layer cutting away.With load increased,friction coefficient decreases,wear rate increases.The result expresses,friction and wear of SiC against stainless steel(1Cr18Ni9Ti) is flake Formation.SiC against stainless steel(1Cr18Ni9Ti) couple doesn't adapt to use for friction couple.
