Tomato species Lycopersicon hirsutum PI 127826 and PI 127827 and L. peruvianum PI 251306 and PI 129145 had the lowest infestations of the mite, Tetranychus marianae McGregor, of the Lycopersicon species evaluated. All cultivated varieties of tomato, L. esculentum, interspecific crosses of L. esculentum × L. pimpinellfolium, L. pimpinellfolium, and L. glandulosum, and the remaining Plant Introductions in L. peruvianum and L. hirsutum were considered susceptible although variation was noted between lines within the species or interspecific crosses. No genetic markers of Lycopersicon were found resistant to mite infestations.
