Effects of Decay on Kraft Pulping Performance of Masson Pine

The chemical composition and fiber morphology of masson pine normal wood and decayed wood that had been storaged for months were analyzed.Effects of decayed wood on kraft pulping properties of masson pine,single stage hypochlorite bleaching performance and properties of the paper made of unbleached pulp were studied.The results indicated that:Compared with healthy wood,masson pine rotten wood has poorer pulping and papermaking properties and decayed wood should be avoided in producing of pulp as far as possible.
